Garbage never looked so good! This Glass Beach is located in Fort Bragg, California in MacKerricher State Park. The colorful sea glass was created from YEARS of dumping garbage into the coastline in Northern California. It was an active dump site up till 1967. According to Wikipedia: “The pounding waves broke down the glass and pottery and tumbled those pieces into the small, smooth, colored pieces that often become jewelry quality and that cover Glass Beach.”

What started as trash turned into an attraction that many visit on road trips through California. Check out how cool this beach is and why you must visit! If you’re driving from San Francisco, I recommend bringing some motion sickness pills if you easily get car sick. There are pretty curvy roads through the park. My friend Olivia and I pulled over multiple times to calm our stomachs! It ended up being worth it to take a few rest breaks to admire the forest as it is a beautiful drive.
