Recently, my friend and I went to Lyon, France and stayed in a ultra-hip hotel situated perfectly next to the Le Rhône river and a quick walk to the Place du Maréchal Lyautey and Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. Part of OKKO Hotels, a chain of boutique hotels around France, Lyon Pont Lafayette is a 4 star hotel set up nicely for business travelers.
The rooms are minimalist and come with flat-screen TVs, WiFi, Nespresso machines, and en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. My room had a balcony and view looking out on to Lyon and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. The view is perfect and quickly gives you a sense of just how walkable the city is and how close you are to everything.
Besides the fabulous location and good view, my favorite part of this hotel is the stylish lobby and upscale snack shop and bar areas! They are both accessible via key card so guests only are allowed. Once inside, there are lounging options galore and a kitchen filled with snacks available for guests. Happy hour is daily starting at 7 PM and includes wine, cheese & meat boards. The daily breakfast is also fantastic and offers a variety of goodies. Check out my photo gallery below showing off the lounge and snack rooms.
I felt very comfortable staying in this hotel, especially considering two of the days I was in Lyon it was raining and I just wanted space to hang out and chill. The spacious common areas made it possible for me and my friend to hang out and catch up, while staying warm and cozy with tea and coffee included! Overall, great location, nice balcony views, and perfect for a business meeting in the lounge area. See website for latest offers and rates at OKKO Hotels Lyon Pont Lafayette.
