Located in the city center of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a boutique hotel called The KL Journal. Within walking distance to the shopping and entertainment district of Bukit Bintang, you are steps away to a ton of bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel is also a block away from one of the Go-KL bus stops which is a FREE purple shuttle in Kuala Lumpur for tourists that goes around the central downtown area to all the sights. Yes, I said FREE! What other major cities even offer this? Unbelievable.
For only $75 USD per night, you can stay at The KL Journal in their Deluxe King room overlooking the lively neighborhood of Bukit Bintang. It actually looked like and reminded me of Las Vegas. With a rooftop infinity pool and incredible restaurants, this hotel pretty much has it all.
The KL Journal: Deluxe King Room
The first thing I noticed about the room was the AC. It was so humid outside that it felt so refreshing to walk into a comfortable room. The view makes you realize how perfect the location is and how close you actually are to all the action. The bathroom has a really nice rain shower and products from KL Journal.
The KL Journal: Restaurants & Bars
The Terrace Bar and Grill is situated alfresco and has a lively atmosphere. My friend and I enjoyed a dinner here and it happened to be Open Mic night where local talents performed so we got to enjoy some live music. It was also ladies night, and the mojitos hit the spot. Order the chicken satay, the peanut sauce was out of this world.
The Kedai Kopi Journal restaurant is on the main floor and connected to the main lobby. This is where breakfast and lunch is served everyday. Even if you don’t stay here, this restaurant is worth a visit in KL alone. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals here, and if you have a sweet tooth you won’t want to miss this…
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, especially the food! Unfortunately, it was a bit rainy while I was here so I didn’t get to enjoy the rooftop pool – next time 🙂 For more photos, check out their hotel’s gallery.
Please note I was welcomed as a guest by The KL Journal. As always, all opinions are my own.
