On the shores of Jimbaran Bay is the Intercontinental Bali Resort, close to Uluwatu, Kuta and around the corner from the airport. While I only had the pleasure of staying here for one night, I made the absolute most of my stay! I spent my time lounging by the pool and also experienced one of the best massages of my life along with a delicious dinner at the connected Japanese restaurant.
Intercontinental Bali Resort & Room
Step onto the grounds of the resort and you’ll immediately feel like you’re on vacation. The open air lobby flows into a lush setting with palm trees that lead you to this massive pool. Walking past the pool you’ll be greeted by the sounds of ocean waves crashing on the white sand and plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas to choose from. The room I stayed in was comfortable and had its own living room area. Attached to the room was a quiet balcony overlooking the rest of the grounds.
Intercontinental Bali Resort: Spa Uluwatu
The day I arrived at the resort I had a scheduled spa appointment. As soon as I walked into Spa Uluwatu I felt happy and relaxed. I chose a sixty minute signature massage and enjoyed every minute. I’m actually not even a massage person – I know – I’m like one of very few that say that. So given I don’t usually do them I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that I really, really loved it! The spa came complete with a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi which I took full advantage of along with complimentary tea and snacks.
Ko Japanese Restaurant
For dinner, I went to the Ko Japanese restaurant, which was a special experience! I sat in front of a teppanyaki chef and thoroughly enjoyed the mango scallop with jalapeno sauce and a grilled wagyu beef with teriyaki and spicy miso sauce. Choose from a variety of options on the menu featuring hot pots, soups, curries, salads, sushi, and salmon and noodle dishes.
Please note I was welcomed as a guest by The Intercontinental Bali Resort. As always, all opinions are my own.
