Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for thousands of limestone rocks that come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Recently, I had the chance of a lifetime to join Indochina Junk on a cruise through Halong Bay – an experience I’ll never forget! A trip to northern Vietnam would not be complete without exploring this region, it’s too picturesque. Check out my full review below of my experience aboard the Dragon Legend Cruise on a 2 day and 1 night excursion, including a photo series of my stay.
The Dragon Legend Cruise Boat & Meals
The ship comes complete with two outdoor decks, a heated pool, numerous lounge chairs, a spa and dining room serving up the most delicious food. Our tour guide, Kenny, was extremely helpful in describing our schedule, the boat’s features, and information about Ha Long Bay. The meals were next level delicious, quality food, and you can tell in the photos carefully prepared.
The Extravagant Bedroom & Bathroom
I couldn’t believe it when we first got to our room, it was gorgeous! The Dragon Legend cruise ship has 24 rooms total and all are beautifully designed and inspired by Vietnamese culture. The bathroom is massive and features a Jacuzzi tub which my friend and I actually used to warm our feet since they were frozen after kayaking! The bedroom and bathroom have a large window so whenever you have down time in the room you can still enjoy the views.

Kayaking Halong Bay

Kayaking my way towards Ha Long Bay 🛶🌅 Enjoyed a wonderful 2 day/1 night cruise aboard the Dragon Legend with @indochinajunk It was such a luxurious experience, the room was beautiful, the food delicious, and views incredible! My favorite part was getting out on the water by kayak. Even though it’s quite chilly in February, it was still worth it. In fact, I think Ha Long Bay is an absolute *must* do in Vietnam. I went during off season, which was helpful in securing a discount. That said, typically, they charge $265 USD/person for the 2 day one night excursion. I would actually recommend going during high season because of weather benefits. We were still able to go kayaking but it was rather chilly! Also, all of our meals were indoors and we weren’t able to take advantage of the lounge chairs on the cruise.
Time flew by, so I would recommend the 3 day and 2 night cruise if you have the time and budget. The price may seem high but EVERYTHING is included: the delicious meals, a luxury transport to and from Hanoi, and a fabulous room and bathroom. Overall, we had a blast on this cruise – the experience was nothing but luxurious, the views were incredible, the staff were friendly, the room was extremely comfortable, and the meals delicious.
Please note this experience was partially sponsored by Indochina Junk with a media discount. As always, all opinions are my own.
