Recently, I visited Marrakesh and had the pleasure of staying at a relaxing hotel that I would definitely recommend to anyone planning a trip to this pretty hectic town! Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a boutique luxury hotel situated in the Kasbah quarter of the ancient médina. It’s a quick walk to all the action and literally just around the corner from the Royal Palace and the Koutoubia Mosque. You know what they say: location, location, location! I liked staying in this area because I felt like I got the best feel for the town being so close to everything but also had a convenient escape to my room and tranquil common areas when needed. The hotel is walking distance to all the major “things to do” so that was a huge plus in my book. It is also very safe given the front doors are closed at night time and if you do go out for a late night dinner or drink they will open the door for you.
The hotel is suitable for families, friends or couples looking to relax and get away every now and then from the super busy streets of Marrakesh. As soon as I walked in, I felt at ease and calm. The entrance hallway, court yard, bar, pool area and spa are all very welcoming. The highlight of my stay was certainly the staff that work there – they are all very warm and helpful. I had many questions when I arrived given it was my first time to Marrakesh and they walked me through all the things I needed to know about the city and surrounding area.
My friend and I stayed in one of the gorgeous suites, with a living room area and large bathroom with his and hers sinks. While we did not get the chance to spend time in the spa, we toured the area and it looks to be very relaxing. Beyond the spa services and pool, this hotel offers high speed internet connection, daily breakfast and happy hours (buy one get one)! I definitely took advantage of those 🙂 If you have plans to be in Marrakesh, I highly recommend staying here as it was a highlight of our entire Moroccan trip.
